Israel still occupies southern Lebanon despite US-brokered ceasefire deal

Despite a US-brokered agreement intended to pave the way for peace between Lebanon and Israel, the situation on the ground remains unchanged. Israel continues to occupy southern Lebanon and launched targeted strikes there over the weekend. Prime Minister Netanyahu visited the occupied zone and stated that Israeli forces will not withdraw as long as Hezbollah remains active in the area.
