RSC Casts Sharon D. Clarke as Black Lesbian Othello in 2027 Production

The Royal Shakespeare Company has cast Sharon D. Clarke in the title role of "Othello," directed by Monique Touko, in a production that reimagines Shakespeare's tragedy in a climate-threatened future with a Black lesbian at the centre of military power. The production opens at the Swan Theatre on 13 February 2027.
