UK to spend £298bn on defence, buying F-35A jets under Starmer's plan

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has unveiled a Defence Investment Plan committing an extra £15 billion to equip and transform the UK's armed forces. Total defence spending over the next four years will reach nearly £298 billion, raising the defence budget to 2.7% of GDP by 2029. The plan includes the purchase of F-35A fighter jets.
