Archaeologists discover looting-free Maya site deep in Yucatán jungle, name it Minanbé
Archaeologists reached a previously unlooted Maya site on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula by driving ATVs and then hiking miles through dense forest. They named the site Minanbé, meaning "there is no path" in the Maya language. The site's untouched state offers researchers a rare opportunity to study Maya monuments in their original condition.
