Koeman resigns after Netherlands knocked out by Morocco on penalties at World Cup

Ronald Koeman has resigned as head coach of the Netherlands national football team, one day after his side were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup by Morocco in a penalty shootout. The defeat ended the Dutch campaign at the tournament co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico. Koeman confirmed the decision himself.
