AirDrop and Quick Share flaws put over 5 billion devices at risk
Newly discovered security vulnerabilities in Apple's AirDrop and Android's Quick Share affect more than five billion active devices worldwide. An attacker within 30 meters can exploit the flaws without sending a phishing link, accessing a shared Wi-Fi network, or physically touching the device. Security researchers say both file-sharing systems prioritise seamless transfers, leaving background services exposed before the sender's identity is verified.
