Gemini Spark launches on macOS app for local tasks and automation

Google has rolled out Gemini Spark to the macOS Gemini app, as previewed at I/O 2026. The feature enables local task execution and desktop automation. A second major update planned for this summer will introduce a new voice experience to the desktop app.
