July is looking like a solid month for Apple TV subscribers. The highly anticipated season 3 of Silo premieres early in the month, followed by a new crime thriller miniseries starring Anya Taylor-Joy. The streaming service is even getting a pickleball movie.
While the list of new releases in July might be short, Apple TV is continuing its trend of only releasing quality original content.
New on Apple TV for July
Silo Season 3 - Premieres July 3
Silo continues to add to Apple TV's reputation as the best source of good sci-fi TV shows. IGN loved the first two seasons, giving them both high scores in our reviews . For those who haven't seen the series, it's a look into a dystopian future in which an entire community lives in a massive underground silo. It's full of intrigue and stars Rebecca Furguson (you may know her from Dune ) as an engineer who gets pulled into the much larger mystery about her world.
For those who have been keeping up with the show already, you'll likely remember that season 2 left off with a pretty tantalizing cliffhanger . It will be interesting to see where the new season will take us.
Trying Season 5 - Premieres July 8
Trying was one of the first original shows ever released on Apple TV (starting back in 2020 !) and is now heading into its fifth season. This cozy British comedy series follows Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) through a long and chaotic process of adopting a child.
According to the press release from Apple , season 5 "finds Nikki and Jason dealing with the consequences of Princess and Tyler’s biological mother Kat turning up at their doorstep." The first new episode will be released on July 8.
Lucky - Premieres July 15
Lucky is based on Marissa Stapley's 2021 best-selling novel of the same name and follows a reformed grifter who falls back into her life as a criminal. Anya Taylor-Joy stars as Lucky Armstrong in this crime thriller series with Timothy Olyphant playing the role of her outlaw father.
The series premieres on July 15 and will release new episodes weekly until August 19.
The Dink - Premieres July 24
If you're in the mood for a sports comedy, Apple TV is jumping on the pickleball phenomenon . This new film follows former tennis pro Dusty Boyd (Jake Johnson) as he discovers a newfound love for the game of pickleball during a low point in his life. His father (Ed Harris), a tennis purist, takes issue with this decision, bringing the ongoing feud between pickleballers and tennis players to the screen.
The movie includes a solid supporting cast of Patton Oswalt, Ben Stiller, Chris Parnell, Aron Chen, Chloe Fineman, and even Andy Roddick playing himself. You'll be able to stream the film starting on Friday, July 24.
Snoopy Presents: There's No Place Like Home, Snoopy - Premieres July 31
In case you didn't already know, Apple TV is the home of all things Peanuts. After releasing season 2 of Camp Snoopy last month , we're getting even more of Charlie Brown's lovable dog starting on July 31. The new special follows Snoopy after his beloved doghouse is accidentally sold at a yard sale.
