Physicist hunts for "stupendously large black holes" bigger than entire galaxies

Astrophysicist Brian Lacki is investigating the possible existence of black holes larger than entire galaxies, dubbed "stupendously large black holes". He suggests such objects could theoretically be used by alien civilisations. Astronomers have only recently begun to search systematically for these extreme cosmic objects.
