Russia shuts rail border crossings with Finland, Estonia and Latvia

Russia is halting rail traffic from Wednesday at seven border crossings with NATO members Finland, Estonia and Latvia. The ban covers both passenger and freight trains. The Kremlin describes the closure as temporary but has given no date for resuming cross-border services.
