Godot engine bans AI-authored code contributions over quality and trust concerns

The Godot Foundation has announced it will amend its contributor guidelines to ban AI-authored code, pull requests submitted by AI agents, and AI-generated text in human-to-human communication. The decision follows months of deliberation after a rising tide of low-quality "AI slop" pull requests became increasingly draining for the project's code reviewers. Godot powers games such as Slay the Spire 2 and The Case of the Golden Idol.
