GTA 6 sparks controversy over $79.99 price days after record-breaking preorders

After waiting for many years longer than expected, gamers worldwide finally received the news they'd been looking for last week, as Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on November 19 , with pre-orders available starting this past Thursday , June 25. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a standard edition priced at $79.99 and an Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99. But, as with any major event that millions had been waiting for, controversy has followed in the five days since, and will likely continue until release day.
