YouTuber builds working Game Boy emulator on a 4.7-inch E-Ink touchscreen
YouTuber Wenting Zhang has built a Game Boy emulator called Paper Boy S3 using a 4.7-inch E-Ink touchscreen and an ESP32 chip. Contrary to the common assumption that E-Ink screens are too slow for gaming, the device achieves a refresh rate sufficient for original Game Boy titles. The project still has some limitations but demonstrates what can be done with basic off-the-shelf hardware.
