Baldur's Gate 2 veteran James Ohlen turned down Baldur's Gate 4: "That would be insanity"

James Ohlen, director of writing and design on Baldur's Gate 2, revealed in an interview with PC Gamer that Hasbro CEO Chris Cox approached him to lead Baldur's Gate 4 as soon as Larian Studios confirmed it would not be making a sequel. Ohlen declined, saying competing with Larian and the legacy of BG3 would be a recipe for failure. Who will ultimately develop Baldur's Gate 4 remains unanswered.
