Poland signs deal for three A26 submarines from Sweden under Orka programme
Poland and Sweden signed a package of agreements under the Orka submarine programme, with the ceremony attended by both countries' prime ministers and defence ministers. Poland will acquire three new A26-class submarines and will also lease an A17 submarine, which will be available as early as next year. Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz compared the acquisition in strategic importance to the F-35 fighter jet programme, highlighting its significance for Baltic security.
