TikTok, Instagram and YouTube fail child safety test – only 35 of 86 features work properly
A Cybersafety Research Center analysis found that only 35 of 86 tested safety features on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube both worked as described and were genuinely accessible to children and teenagers. The majority of advertised protections either failed to function correctly or were not reachable by younger users. The findings raise serious concerns about child safety on major social media platforms.
