Stephen Wolfram: the universe can't be predicted even if you know all its rules

Physicist Stephen Wolfram spent decades running computer experiments on simple rules, developing a model of how the universe works. His conclusions show that even complete knowledge of all governing rules cannot shortcut or predict the future. The model also explains why evolution never stagnates and why individual human lives cannot be predicted or accelerated by anyone.
