Airlines keep ticket prices high despite falling fuel costs
The Middle East conflict nearly doubled jet fuel prices, and airlines passed those costs onto passengers through higher ticket prices, reduced routes and steeper baggage fees. Despite fuel now becoming cheaper, carriers have no plans to lower fares. CNN reports this is a deliberate business strategy by the aviation industry.
