Paraguay declares public holiday after beating Germany at World Cup 2026

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña declared Tuesday a national public holiday to celebrate the national team's victory over Germany in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. "Today the whole country celebrates," Peña wrote. It is considered one of the biggest results in Paraguay's football history.
