Warsaw museum reframes Marie Curie as a flawed, living person — not a monument

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw is rethinking how it presents its patron — shifting from a heroic scientist narrative to a portrait of a woman who experienced passion, mistakes and emotion. Director Barbara Gołębiowska says: "We want her to stop being a monument and become a living, complex person." The new approach aims to humanise Curie beyond her scientific achievements and connect visitors to her full life story.
