Polish and Ukrainian bishops call for bold forgiveness and reject imposed historical narratives

Catholic bishops from Poland and Ukraine have issued a joint statement calling on both nations to practise bold forgiveness and to stop imposing their own particular visions of the past and future on each other. They stressed that the two nations share too much to allow their common heritage to be squandered. They warned that imposing one's historical narrative is a surrender to today's dominant culture of violence and force.
