Polish team maps 1,000+ km of ancient irrigation channels in Armenia
Polish and Armenian researchers have identified over 1,000 km of ancient and modern irrigation channel remnants in the Ararat Valley, near the ancient settlement of Argisztichinili. The mapping was carried out using remote sensing and satellite analysis. The findings shed new light on water management practices of ancient civilisations in the region.
