Morocco reached the World Cup 2026 round of 16 by defeating the Netherlands on penalties after a 1-1 draw following extra time in Monterrey. Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for the Dutch before Issa Diop headed in a stoppage-time equaliser. Ismael Saibari converted the decisive penalty to send the Atlas Lions through.
