Forced inheritance share in Poland: who qualifies and how much it amounts to

A will allows a testator to designate any heir, but close relatives who are excluded can claim a forced share (zachowek) from whoever inherited the estate. Eligible claimants include children, a spouse and parents of the deceased. The amount equals one-half or two-thirds of the share they would have received under statutory inheritance rules.
