NIK Chief: Officials Should Settle Disputes More Often Instead of Going to Court
Mariusz Haładyj, head of Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK), is calling for a change in how public officials approach dispute resolution. He argues that officials should not avoid settlements out of fear of signing them — if a settlement is more favourable than a court ruling, refusing it can harm public finances. The new approach is intended to benefit businesses in particular.
