Canada eyes joining UK-Italy-Japan next-generation fighter jet programme GCAP

Canada has expressed interest in joining GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme), the UK-Italy-Japan initiative to develop a next-generation combat aircraft. It is the latest country to signal it may join the three founding partners. GCAP aims to deliver a sixth-generation fighter to replace aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon and Japan's F-2.
