South Korea commits $1 trillion to memory chips, AI data centres and humanoid robots

South Korea's government and top tech firms, including Samsung and SK Hynix, have committed $1 trillion to memory chip production, AI data centres and humanoid robots. Commercial deployment of humanoid robots is targeted for 2028, with Hyundai Motor Company — owner of Boston Dynamics — set to mass-produce them for factory use. President Lee Jae Myung said South Korea must "secure the core elements of AI faster than any other country."
