26 US states sue to block Medicaid work requirements

Twenty-six US states, including five New England states — Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont — sued the federal government Monday to block Medicaid work requirements introduced by the Trump administration. Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell said the rules threaten healthcare access for the most vulnerable residents. The requirements are expected to strip hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts residents of their Medicaid coverage.
