Physicists Propose Stars May Collapse into Gravastars, Not Black Holes
Theoretical physicists have found a solution to Einstein's equations of general relativity in which a collapsing star does not necessarily form a black hole. Instead, the star could become a gravastar — an extremely compact object that mimics a black hole from the outside but contains something akin to a Big Bang within. The finding challenges the assumption that stellar collapse inevitably produces black holes.
