Polestar banned from US market from 2027 over China links

The US Bureau of Industry and Security has denied Polestar authorization to sell vehicles in the US from model year 2027, citing the Connected Vehicle Rule's national security provisions targeting brands with a "sufficient nexus" to China or Russia. The rule was introduced in the final days of the Biden administration and retained under Trump. Sister brand Volvo was granted a green light and can continue sales in the US market.
