That's a little astrology joke for you regarding the announcement of The Underworld , the Philly indie-folk band's follow-up to their 2022 debut Radiator . The album emerged from a period of struggle for frontperson G DeGroot during which they physically couldn't sing. "I was having chronic pain, problems with my voice, gut issues," they explain in a press release. "It felt so urgent to try and keep things going, but my body was saying no."

The Best American Novels, According to Barnes & Noble

With the 250th anniversary of the United States coming up, there have been quite a few ‘Merica-focused book lists. Barnes & Noble is the latest to put its hat in the ring, with a list of American novels curated by American authors . The authors asked to share their Great American Novel range from established, bestsellers (like Ann Patchett, Hernan Diaz, Tananarive Due, Ayad Akhtar, and Min Jin Lee), to debut authors who have already made an impact (Caro Claire Burke, Vincent Yu, and Woody Brown). A few authors mention books that are unsurprising—by “unsurprising,” I mean they’re the kind that are often required reading in high school (think The Great Gatsby and Catch-22 ). Then there are the books by authors who aren’t added to high school curricula nearly as often (or ever), like the experimental This is Not a Novel and Other Novels by David Markson, the nuanced horror The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, and two of my favorite books ever, Beloved and The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.

The Most Popular Books on Kindle

The most-read books on Kindle surprised me a bit. Unless I’ve overlooked something, they are all by white people and are bestselling books, even outside of the Amazon/Kindle ecosystem. Those things weren’t surprising. I expected the current It Books—like Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke, Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, and Strangers by Belle Burden—to make the list. What got me was the inclusion of books like Stripped Down by Bunnie XO (never heard of her, no shade), 1929 by Andrew Ross Sorkin (apparently, people are really into learning about the 1929 crash that led to The Great Depression, which I’m not mad at), and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson (Still? Again, no shade). Also, Kindle readers are still super into reading That UK Magical School Series.

The Most Anticipated Books by Women for Summer and Fall, BIPOC Edition

For Electric Lit , Lucy Yu—writer and owner of Yu & Me Books in Manhattan—has taken over the duty of writing the list of the most anticipated books by women of color from RO Kwon. The list is a mix of hardcovers and paperbacks coming out this summer and fall, and includes fiction and nonfiction. There are even a few kids’ books.

I was already super excited for a few of these ( I Punched an Alien and Now We’re in Couples Therapy by Kimberly Lemming, Taipei Story by R. F. Kuang, The True Confessions of First Lady Freeman by Deesha Philyaw, On Sundays She Picked Flowers by Yah Yah Scholfield, and Weavingshaw by Heba Al-Wasity), and have been put onto others ( Hustle, Baby by Priya Guns, Take What You Can by Naima Coster, To God by Esther Yi, Love, Witches, and Wahala by Christine Cowan, and The Moon Without Stars by Chanel Miller, and more). There are also a few books that are just necessary 2026 reading, I think (The Seven Daughters of Dupree by Nikesha Elise Williams and Kin by Tayari Jones). Yu unites all of the books with common themes that she noticed: “In these upcoming literary works, I notice major similarities in themes of rest, retreat, confrontation, grief, motherhood, and release.” All in all, a 10/10 list.

As the Marine Corps continues its pursuit of ground-based air defense against hostile drones and low-flying enemy aircraft, it’s making a milestone investment: a first-of-its-kind $20 million production contract for fully autonomous ground vehicles that can transport air defense systems deeper into the fight, with less human oversight.

The contract was awarded this month to Overland AI, a Seattle-based company whose autonomy stack already powers military vehicles including General Dynamics’ Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (S-MET); the Army’s 18th Airborne Corps; Textron’s Ripsaw M5; and used by DARPA, among others

In a round table meeting with reporters on Monday, Overland co-founder and CEO Byron Boots said the Other Transaction Authority production agreement, awarded through the office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, made the company the first ground autonomy provider to prime a production agreement with the U.S. military.

“Ground autonomy matters now more than ever,” Boots said. “We’re seeing the proliferation of uncrewed ground vehicles in conflicts like the one in Ukraine, and tech maturity is really there.”

Adding, “We’re registering extremely high demand from U.S. operational units who want to incorporate this technology into their concepts of operation, so in the last six months or so we’ve really seen the U.S. Army and Marine Corps lean forward into autonomy.”

Boots said Overland has participated in multiple major military exercises over the last year, providing the Army’s 173rd Airborne Corps with autonomous vehicles for breaching and resupply in exercises including Agile Spirit and African Lion. The company, he said, also provided the 82nd Airborne with autonomous ground vehicles for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance during a six-month period around a training rotation at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

“We’re registering extremely high demand from U.S. operational units who want to incorporate this technology into their concepts of operation,” Boots said.

Few details are available yet as to the model and capabilities of the systems Overland plans to provide to the Marine Corps. Announcements included images of the Overland-made ULTRA, which weighs 2,500 pounds and has a payload of about 1,000 pounds, but Boots would not confirm details.

He did say that the Corps had contracted for “about a dozen” of the vehicles, and said they would be delivered in about nine months.

Boots cited specific uses for the autonomous vehicles including resupply and ISR, but also mentioned the possibility of integrating them into the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS), a recently fielded mobile counter-drone weapon mounted on a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.

“It’s not intended to replace the JLTV,” Boots said. “We’re going to start by integrating the vehicle into the system, providing a resupply capability for the other vehicles, which are part of the system, and we may build on it from there.”

While the Marine Corps has emphasized the Pacific area of operations in its pursuit of new ground-based air defense systems, Boots said the vehicles Overland was providing were not theater-specific, and were capable of traversing “a very wide range of different terrain.” More details, he said, would be forthcoming closer to delivery of the vehicles.

“The uncrewed ground vehicle removes an operator from the proximity of whatever you’re doing, and you can imagine how useful that will be,” he said.

“The thing that we’re really excited about here is the fact that we are at a point where the U.S. military is really seeing the utility of vehicles like this and has moved beyond experimentation and prototyping to production contracts, and we’re excited to lead the way there,” Boots concluded.

TL;DR

A leak has shed some light on the camera situation for all three of Samsung’s upcoming foldables.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could get an ultrawide lens upgrade, while the Flip 8 main retain the same cameras as before.

The Fold 8 is said to feature two 50MP and two 10MP cameras.

The leaks are picking up pace as we get closer and closer to the launch of Samsung’s next foldables. Thanks to a Wireless Power Consortium listing, we have further proof of the names for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and its wider sibling. Now, a new report sheds some light on camera details for all three phones.

According to Sisa Journal , the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, will feature a 50MP ultrawide camera. This would be an upgrade over the Fold 7’s 12MP sensor. As for the other two rear cameras, it appears we’re getting the same primary and telephoto lenses as last year. So expect a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor for the primary, and a 10x telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Marvel has had a quiet year on the big screen so far, but there have been a few new TV projects leading up to the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day , the first MCU film of 2026. The first Marvel Disney+ show to stick with fans around the world was Wonder Man , starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley . The show was such a massive hit that it received a rare renewal from Marvel Studios . Another show two seasons deep that returned this year is Daredevil: Born Again , which is now shooting Season 3 following the premiere of Season 2. The most anticipated Marvel TV return of the year that has everyone talking, though, is the long-awaited second season of X-Men ‘97 , which is coming on July 1.
