EU and China agree joint trade monitoring in first deal since 2019
EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and Chinese Trade Minister Wang Wentao met in Brussels on Monday to launch consultations aimed at reducing the EU's widening trade deficit with China. The two sides agreed on joint monitoring of trade flows — the first such agreement since 2019. The talks are intended as the start of a broader process of normalising economic relations.
