Pakistani airstrikes kill at least 36 Afghan civilians, over 160 wounded

Pakistani ground operations and airstrikes in Afghanistan overnight killed at least 36 civilians and wounded more than 160 others, Afghan officials said on Monday. Pakistan stated the operations were launched in retaliation for militant attacks carried out inside Pakistan. An Afghan official warned that the strikes would be met with a response, as tensions between the two neighbours continued to escalate.
