Comcast splits into two companies — NBCUniversal and Sky go to entertainment arm
Comcast has announced a split into two independent companies to be completed within 12 months. The entertainment arm will include NBCUniversal, Sky, Peacock and Bravo, while the second company — likely retaining the Comcast name — will focus on technology, internet and phone services. A third entity, Versant Media, housing most of Comcast's TV channels, had already been spun off separately. The announcement has sparked speculation about a potential sale of Universal.
