Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron sued for artificially inflating RAM prices

A class-action lawsuit (Garciaguirre et al. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., et al.) has been filed against RAM manufacturers Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, alleging they are exploiting market conditions to artificially inflate prices and manipulate demand. The suit comes amid a major RAM shortage — dubbed RAMageddon — that has driven up hardware costs. While the shortage is widely attributed to AI data centre construction, the plaintiffs allege the manufacturers are deliberately exacerbating it.
