Menstrual Cycle Phase Affects COVID-19 Vaccine Effectiveness in Women

Women vaccinated against COVID-19 during the luteal phase of their menstrual cycle reported breakthrough infections sooner than those vaccinated during the follicular phase. The findings suggest that sex hormones may modulate the immune response to vaccines. The research could have practical implications for timing vaccination in women to maximise protection.
