Maja Chwalińska was a single point away from advancing to the second round of Wimbledon when she suffered an ankle injury at 6-5 in the third set, effectively ending her chances of victory. The 24-year-old Polish player lost in three sets to Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew. The injury came at the most critical moment of the match.
