Green mamba venom is almost always fatal — here's why
The green mamba spends most of its time in treetops, hunting birds and small mammals such as rodents and squirrels. Its venom is extremely potent and a bite is almost always fatal without immediate medical treatment. The snake occasionally descends to the ground, where it can also catch prey.
