Ford fired worker over a $1.95 cookie he had paid for — he later won a better job

Kurt Kromm, an 11-year employee at Ford's truck factory in Louisville, Kentucky, was fired after the company accused him of not paying for a $1.95 chocolate chip cookie at the canteen. Kromm produced a bank statement proving he had paid, but Ford dismissed him anyway. He subsequently found a better-paying job elsewhere.
