Russia jails nightclub owner for 7 years in first prosecution under LGBT ban
Vyacheslav Khasanov, 37, the owner of a nightclub, was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 1 million roubles in Russia's first criminal prosecution under its LGBT ban. Club staff were also convicted. The case marks the first use of the ban to secure a criminal conviction in Russia.
