July is the time to fertilise and deadhead peonies for next year's blooms
Once peonies finish blooming in July, gardeners should deadhead spent flowers and apply a potassium- and phosphorus-rich fertiliser to encourage regeneration and bud formation for the following season. Green stems and leaves must not be cut back, as they produce nutrients stored in the roots. Regular watering during this period supports healthy plant development.
