S17 expressway closed after concrete buckles in heatwave near Warsaw

A section of the S17 expressway towards Warsaw, between the Żyrzyn and Skrudki junctions, has been closed indefinitely. The cause is a serious buckling of the concrete surface that occurred during the recent heatwave, posing a danger to drivers. Road engineers are investigating the failure of what is a relatively new route.
