Comcast to spin off NBCUniversal and Sky into a separate company

Comcast announced it will split into two companies by spinning off NBCUniversal, which includes Sky. Mike Cavanagh will serve as CEO of NBCUniversal, while former Comcast CFO Michael Angelakis will become CEO of the new Comcast. The separation of the media and technology businesses is intended to allow each entity to develop independently.
