British American Tobacco cuts 5,500 jobs to save £600m by 2028
Tobacco giant British American Tobacco (BAT) announced on Monday the elimination of 5,500 jobs worldwide — roughly one in five employees — as part of a "transformation programme." The restructuring aims to generate savings of £600 million by 2028. The company did not specify which divisions or countries would be most affected by the cuts.
