Europe's heatwave killed 1,300 people, WHO warns; Germany hits record 41.7°C
The World Health Organization has linked Europe's current heatwave to at least 1,300 deaths across the continent. Germany recorded a new high of 41.7°C during the event. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that European countries are not adequately prepared to cope with extreme high temperatures.
