Sultan of Oman meets Macron in Paris to discuss Strait of Hormuz

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted the Sultan of Oman at the Élysée Palace on Monday at the start of a two-day visit. The two leaders are expected to discuss regional security amid tensions with Iran and the free passage of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Oman has long served as a key diplomatic mediator in the Middle East.
