Polish tax authority rules same-sex couple married abroad cannot file joint PIT return

Poland's tax authority has issued a ruling confirming that two men married abroad cannot file a joint PIT tax return in Poland. Under Polish law, marriage is defined exclusively as a union between a man and a woman, which is the condition for the joint-filing tax benefit. The ruling denies same-sex couples the financial advantage available to heterosexual married couples.
