Dollar retreats from one-year high, Swiss franc holds sideways trend

The US dollar retreated from its highest level in over a year, easing pressure on currency markets. The Swiss franc continued to trade within a narrow sideways range that has held since April. The dollar's pullback was not sufficient to push the franc out of its established trading band.
