Expert: US-Iran talks only meaningful if attacks permanently stop
The US and Iran have agreed to halt attacks on each other and resume peace talks. The exchange of strikes began after the IRGC hit a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting a US counterstrike, with both sides blaming the other for breaking the ceasefire. Julia Roknifard, Senior Lecturer at Taylor's University Malaysia, told Bloomberg that the talks will only be substantive if the fighting genuinely stops.
