Poznań marks 70th anniversary of the June 1956 uprising with tribute to victims
Poznań held commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the June 1956 uprising, the first mass workers' protest in communist Poland, which was violently suppressed by the authorities. Residents and officials gathered to pay tribute to the victims of the events. At least 57 people were killed when the protests were put down.
